Medical Mixed Acuity Registered Nurse (RN) – ME6 Unit

Compensation
$32.00 – $42.00 per hour

Sign-on Bonus: Up to $10,000 (Nights) / $7,500 (Days)
Relocation Assistance: Available via sign-on bonus after 100 days of employment

Additional Earnings:
– Queue Care Add-On: +$2.00/hr
– Night Add-On: +$2.00/hr
– Night Shift Differential: 15% of base rate

Join a 28-bed Mixed Acuity unit at the region’s largest nonprofit hospital system. With a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio (occasionally 1:6 based on acuity), this unit provides care for complex medical and oncology patients, including head and neck cancers, oral cavity, larynx, sinus, sarcomas, melanomas, and post-laryngectomy cases. Patients may require advanced nursing skills such as ventilator support, drips, wound care, and close monitoring.

Responsibilities:
– Provide direct care for mixed acuity medical and oncology patients
– Manage BiPAP, drips, cardiac monitoring, and complex wound care
– Perform frequent assessments and Q4H vital sign monitoring
– Assist with post-operative and high-acuity cancer patient care
– Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams
– Maintain accurate clinical documentation and patient records

Requirements:
– Active RN license
– Graduate of an accredited nursing program
– Will train RNs of all experience levels
– Ability to manage high-acuity, complex patient populations
– Strong critical thinking, communication, and time management skills
