Position Overview

A growing acute care hospital is seeking an experienced Director of Surgical Services to lead a busy perioperative department. This executive leadership role is responsible for overseeing clinical operations, budgeting, staffing, regulatory compliance, physician relations, and quality initiatives while ensuring exceptional patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily operations of Surgical Services
• Manage department budgets, staffing, and resource utilization
• Ensure compliance with Joint Commission and regulatory standards
• Build strong relationships with physicians and hospital leadership
• Oversee quality improvement and patient satisfaction initiatives
• Recruit, develop, mentor, and evaluate department staff
• Drive strategic planning and operational growth

Requirements

• Active Arizona RN license (or eligible)
• Bachelor’s degree required (MSN preferred)
• Minimum 5 years of progressive OR leadership experience in an acute care hospital
• Strong background in budgeting, quality, and staff development
• Excellent leadership and communication skills
